Beastman is an F-Zero pilot, who specializes in hunting dangerous animals as his main occupation. The character makes his debut in the game F-Zero X.
Bio[]
Beastman was once attacked by a large space crocodile, which changed his life forever. Donning the attire of a dinosaur, he became a beast hunter. The outfit was not only to hide his identity but his apparent shyness as well.
Once he had eliminated all of the dangerous creatures from his homeworld (revealed as the planet White, only in Beastman's US F-Zero GX Pilot Profile), he decided to enter the F-Zero X Grand Prix to promote himself for anybody wishing to employ his services. According to F-Zero GX and AX's bio for the Hyper Speeder, Beastman went to Dr. Clash with leftover wreckage from a downed fighter plane, and asked Clash to turn it into an F-Zero machine for a low price.
It was during his first year of racing that he met Bio Rex. Beastman has since continued to compete in the Grand Prix with a vow to protect the other pilots and crowd from Bio Rex in case the creature ever decides to go rogue.
In an interview with Beastman on F-Zero GX, Beastman also states he wants to make a helmet out of a Bio Rex.
F-Zero GP Legend Anime[]
In the anime, Beastman's anime counterpart is depicted as a more serious beast hunter, even to the point of wanting to kill a beast in cold-blood. It is also hinted that Beastman has a rivalry with Bio Rex, which is perhaps a borrowed elements from the non-anime related series.
Beastman only makes one appearance in the anime, in which he is hunting for a werewolf, who happens to be Leon's anime counterpart. During the entirety of the episode, he reluctantly teams up with Rick Wheeler in hunting for the werewolf. He eventually encounters the werewolf in an F-Zero race, although Rick prevents him from killing him when it turns out that Leon is the werewolf and is trying to live a normal life. Beastman reluctantly leaves but tells Leon to stay out of his sight.
Trivia[]
- Beastman's true name is not known. Christopher Annex is a made up name derived from Nintendo of America's F-Zero X website, which is now defunct. However, the information that stems from the character bios clash heavily and even contradict that of canon and official F-Zero media originally in Japanese, as well as later developments in English.
- His anime counterpart wields a gun and whip, although such things cannot be seen on the main game version of Beastman.
