He traveled to the era of the F-Zero races to enter the Grand Prix in order to stop a criminal that was going to cause an event that could have drastic consequences on the future. In order to prepare, he received training from a 20th-century racer and reduced his time machine's functionality to be comparable to other machines of the time period.

Despite his mission, he has made it no secret that he is from the future and that he has a mission, though as part of his duties he can't reveal information on the future.

After his work is finished, he intends to travel to the 32nd century to track down a different criminal.

Appearance[]

Phoenix wears a black skintight suit with white body armor and long boots, a white helmet with two long side pieces connecting to the ear region, long white gloves, and a long cape featuring a white outer layer and a red inner layer. The helmet comes with a small eye-piece design to mask the upper face region above the nose. His helmet and belt bear a falcon design, which could be the Time Police badge. Overall, his attire resembles that of Japanese super heroes such as Kamen Rider. This is perhaps referenced in his Master Pilot movie, where he "plays" the role of a superhero.

Phoenix's also bears a strong resemblance to Captain Falcon both appearance-wise and physically. Both having similar goals concerning the tracking down of criminals. Phoenix's helmet also appears be of a similar design as Falcon's. Phoenix's pose even resembles Captain Falcon's. Due to Phoenix being from the future, it is unknown if both he and Captain Falcon are related in any sort of way.

Japanese profile (translated)
Phoenix is a time traveler from the future, and a skilled detective of the Space-Time Police dispatched to protect the correct course of history. He has come to this time because he has obtained information that a major event will take place in the "F-Zero GX Grand Prix" that will change the history of the entire universe. Driving his beloved "Rainbow Phoenix," which is also a time machine, he scrambles to prevent the big event from happening.

Trivia[]

  • One of Phoenix's F-Zero TV interview answers mentions a famous racer from the 20th Century teaching him all of his secrets. However, F-Zero GX takes place in around the 26th Century, and Captain Falcon couldn't possibly live that long naturally. It is possible that this is one of Captain Falcon's ancestors Phoenix is mentioning or referring to.
  • Phoenix's development name (as seen in files) is sherlock, referencing the character "Sherlock Holmes". The latter is whom Phoenix is based off of: both are detectives with a British accent.
    • Further possible reference is the Rainbow Phoenix's stats, which spell out BBC. BBC is a widely known TV news station for the United Kingdom.
